Reviews
The Sushi chef here is one of the best. I like ordering the sushi platters for upscale parties when we charter a boat out from Freeport. Need to place order 1 day in advance. I think I was limited to 2 platters because he was too busy. I must say it was devoured quickly and there was not enough to go around for 80 guests. Great great đź‘Ť quality and service
They fit a huge selection of Japanese groceries into a very small area. They also have a sushi section for takeout in the back, but the pre made lunches can sell out quite quickly.
Very well stocked store considering how much square footage they have. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I not only found all the staples I needed for my chawanmushi but was pleasantly surprised by the selection of frozen seafood, fresh breads, snacks, vegetables, and prepared foods such as bentos, udon, gyu don, onigiri and sushi. They even stock some over the counter Japanese medications and supplements. It continues to be my go to each and every time I want anything Japanese.
Love this place. The sushi is top notch, and the chef who makes it is a true master. The general store staff are friendly and helpful. I always ending up buying more than I planned when I come here because I always find something new to try. Can't wait to be back.
Called to order some sushi around 2:00pm but the guy who makes the sushi gets mad because i’m ordering too much and telling me he cant make it because hes too busy.
I went to the store bought teriyaki chicken on rice. I went home and the chicken tasted too salty. I called and explain my complaint to the person that answered the phone. The person responded said OK and stopped speaking. At that time, I asked for the manager and he said he’s the manager. This person is extremely rude and has no manner. At this time I know what I’m dealing with. I told him I want a refund or credit. He responded OK and I asked him his name. He told me his name is “TAKI”
Few days later, I went back to the store and meet TAKI at the register. I told him I was the one that called the other day about the salty teriyaki chicken and show him the receipt and bought back the food to him. I told him I’m going to pick something else and exchange. He responded OK.
I went to the back to pick up another order and bring it to the register for exchange. Now TAKI is saying to me that he doesn’t recommend the store food to me because I was complaining about the food is salty. I was surprised he was saying that. Another word is I don’t want you business. At that time I told him I want a refund.
As a job of a manager. You will explain or gave any suggestion to customer which food as less salt on it. Not by telling customer the store food isn’t right for you.
I been to the store before and the worker at the register is always friendly and polite. This is the first time I encounter him at the register. The store may be under a new management. With his attitude. He may be the new owner of the store. I never met a Japanese person like him. Extremely rude and obnoxious. Nothing like traditional Japanese hospitality!!!!!!!!!! No excuse at all. With the terrible customer service and attitude. I will never go back there.
This place is an absolute hidden gem of a grocery store! They have an amazing selection of Japanese foods which are difficult to find anywhere else. Sushi is made fresh in-house every day and is affordable and delicious! The snack selection is incredible! The staff is so friendly and helpful. I would come here every day if I could!
Great, small, semi-hidden Japanese supermarket with a variety of food/snacks and daily use items.
